Retreat for Digital Creators from Belarusian Diaspora
January 16-17, 2025 | Vilnius, Lithuania
This event brings together the Belarusian diaspora—young (18-30 years old) Belarusian bloggers, vloggers, and social media content creators from platforms like Instagram, and YouTube. Tailored for Gen Z creators passionate about enhancing their impact in the Belarusian social media space, the program includes icebreakers and team-building activities to foster connections, along with educational sessions designed to empower participants with insights and skills to grow their digital presence.

- Short Videos Influence and Creativity
- Synthetic Content Creation
- Reaching out to Gen Z
Schedule layout:
On the first day, we will focus on delivering information through workshops on the topics listed above. The second day will be dedicated to reflection and brainstorming on potential collaborative projects. Divided into groups and guided by mentors, participants will have the opportunity to network and develop their ideas.
Eligibility Criteria
This DCN event will gather up to 20 in-person participants and speakers. Informal networking opportunities will be created during meals and social activities. All activities will be conducted in English and Belarusian (for some sessions).
Participants will be selected through an open application process based on stated expertise and interest in the listed topics. Special consideration will be given to those individuals who can contribute to and benefit from the discussions.
- Up to 20 participants from Belarusian Diaspora
- Applicants can come from Civil Society, New Media, Academia, Technology Fields, Digital Creators and Influencers and have expertise / interest in issues such as Combating Disinformation, Trends in Digital Technology, Digital and Media Literacy, Active Citizenship, Cyber Security, Social Media Campaigns, E-Governance, Web 3.0. (Metaverse, AI, etc), Journalism
- Preferred ages 18 - 30
- Proficient in conversational English
Speakers will be selected from experts that have been recommended or identified by the DCN programming team. Individuals who register as participants may also be invited to speak at the event.
Deadline: November 29, 2024
The forum organizers will arrange and cover economy-class flights, hotel accommodations in shared rooms for participants and single rooms for speakers, most of the meals, and social activities during the event. Obtaining visas is the responsibility of the participants.
The forum is organized by World Learning and Digital Communication Network Global with funding from the U.S. State Department’s Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs.
