Digital and media literacy intersect and provide us with essential skills for engaging, learning and working as citizens of the digital world.
DCN Global’s primary goal is to scale existing media literacy initiatives, share best practices, and empower citizens, including kids and seniors, to play an increasingly important role in combating disinformation and fake news, in the digital space.
Activities
Digital Communication Network Global participates in the annual Global Media and Information Literacy (MIL) Week, led by UNESCO in cooperation with the UNESCO MIL Alliance, the UNESCO-UNAOC MIL.
The training course on digital/media literacy is designed to enable journalists to analyze, evaluate, and create messages in a wide variety of mediums. The training activities aim to broaden journalists' experience in using media and develop their creative skills in making their projects visible and recognizable. After the project, the participants will be better versed in production of low-cost, high-quality media content.
The Digital and Media Literacy for NGOs training program aimed to provide NGO personnel with the necessary skills and information to analyze, evaluate, and create effective messages on a wide variety of digital mediums.Our goal is to strengthen civil society’s ability to address challenges such as disinformation, transparency and accountability. 80 participants from Eastern and Central Europe participated in an interactive training course with experts in social media campaigns, digital storytelling, community engagement, internet security, data analysis, media literacy, and combating disinformation.
