His mission, to give the world a better understanding of how society, human interactions and business will look like in the years to come.
As a public speaker on future trends, he gives his audience an optimistic, yet down-to-earth take on the future and how technologies disrupt everything we do. What will the human-machine relationship look like? How will education, construction, medicine and all other industries are being disrupted?

"How we built our media organization without any branding and (almost) no online marketing" by Bektour Iskender
Branding and online marketing are definitely important, but should media outlet founders pay a lot of attention to these when they open their news organizations? There is no right answer, and maybe the key is in measuring your resources and balancing them in such a way that you dedicate most of your time to achieving your main goals. In case of Kloop, one of the most successful media outlets in Kyrgyzstan, the main goal from the very beginning was educating the new generation of journalists and publishing groundbreaking investigations. And they totally sacrificed any work on branding and marketing. Was it because they were lazy? Or were they just efficient in spending their resources? This is what Kloop's co-founder Bektour Iskender is about to tell during his session.
Bektour Iskender is a co‐founder of Kloop, a Kyrgyzstan-based online media outlet famous for its news coverage and journalism investigations. He is also a TED Senior Fellow and was the first Central Asian to give a TED talk. Kloop was founded in 2007, and quickly gained popularity as an antidote to the state dominated media. Kloop was one of the few reliable online sources of information during the 2010 revolution in Kyrgyzstan. In 2017, Kloop published Samaragate, an award-winning series of investigations about fraud at presidential elections in Kyrgyzstan. During 2019-2020, Kloop published joint investigations together with OCCRP and RFE/RL about organized crime in Kyrgyzstan and its links to the country's authorities. This series received the Tom Renner Prize at IRE Awards, one of the major US awards for investigative journalism.
