Webinar: Best digital security practices when working remotely

Recent events have forced many of us to not just work from home but also to start using a completely new set of tools, almost overnight. Plenty of us have rushed to capture at least a little bit of productivity, not always thinking about the security implications of working from home or of the new tools that we are using.

This webinar aims to address some of the main issues related to digital security, especially (but not only) during remote work. It starts off with a brief look at what we actually talk about when addressing security and how we create security plans. Then, it analyses secure messengers and communications, and the privacy implications of work and personal devices. The webinar concludes with a brief case study of how we make decisions on security and productivity, looking at recent controversies associated with a major video-chat platform.

Speaker
Łukasz Król: With a background in technology and political science, Łukasz studies the ways in which we can bridge our technological and social realities. He is a researcher, lecturer and workshop facilitator. He has spoken at many international events on topics such as algorithmic bias, inequality, and the relationship between humans and technology. He is particularly interested in the ways in which small organizations - such as NGO and media teams - make decisions on security-related matters.
