Our goal is to strengthen civil society’s ability to improve digital communication with the public on civic issues. Up to 45 participants from Azerbaijan will participate in an online interactive training course with experts in digital content creation and storytelling, environmental and mobile journalism, new media products (Vlog, Blog, podcast, Youtube channel, digital community), digital marketing skills and SEO.
Participants are expected to actively build on the trainings and mentorship by applying the knowledge and skills obtained in their current work. The virtual training program (2 hours introduction to each topic) will be followed by project proposals from the participants (group proposals will be prioritized) to implement them in their local communities. The selected projects will be supported by mini grants and DCN Global mentors will guide the participants to efficiently implement them.
Up to 10 participants will be granted with 100% scholarship to attend Thessaloniki International Media Summer Academy in July 2022 based on several factors, including participants’ active engagement in the program and the quality and feasibility of projects to be implemented. The Summer Academy will be a major opportunity to network among civil society organizations and showcase and further develop projects created by participants.
Online training sessions will be held from April 26 - May 19, 2022, two sessions every week on Tuesday and Thursday.
The training will take place at 6 pm (Athens Time) on all days. Upon completion of the virtual training program and the successful implementation of the local projects, participants will receive a joint diploma from Aristotle University in Thessaloniki and the Digital Communication Network Global.
Participants should be:
- Individuals in non-governmental organizations as leaders, staff, or volunteers;
- A resident of Azerbaijan
- Committed to follow-up on the training by implementing knowledge and skills obtained in organization and in country
- Able to communicate effectively in English
- Able to participate for 80 percent of the whole training session.
