With the World Economic Forum Global Risk Report 2024 identifying the integrity of information and disinformation as the top threat for the next two years, media and information literacy have become essential for tackling this issue.
DCN Global has observed through forums and major events in Bratislava, Slovakia, and Helsinki, Finland, that countries which prioritize media literacy training for teachers and integrate it into their education systems tend to have the strongest democratic systems and populations best equipped to handle the complex and ever-evolving information landscape. These events highlighted the complexities of the issue and identified a key area where DCN Global can effectively contribute by leveraging our network.
In response, DCN Global is launching a new certified virtual training series, Unlocking Media Literacy. This innovative program aims to empower educators across formal, non-formal, and informal settings to seamlessly integrate media literacy into their teaching practices.
The series will equip participants with essential skills and knowledge, fostering critical thinking and enhancing media literacy among educators.
DCN Global Hubs worldwide will deliver a curriculum that blends insights from global and regional experts, tailored to local needs.
Each module will combine theoretical knowledge with practical exercises, case studies, and interactive discussions, ensuring a comprehensive and engaging learning experience.
