DCN Global announces a virtual media school for young journalists from Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Cyprus, Montenegro, Kosovo, North Macedonia, Romania, Serbia, and Greece!
The project aims to tackle the global challenge of disinformation by uniting young journalists from these countries to collaboratively and proactively work together.
The virtual media school will be conducted entirely online, utilizing digital tools and platforms to encourage cooperation, knowledge sharing, and the development of strategies to combat disinformation.
The Context
In today’s interconnected world, disinformation is a significant threat to democracy, public discourse, and social cohesion. The rapid spread of false or misleading information across borders jeopardizes the credibility of news media and deepens societal divides. Journalists, as custodians of information, play a crucial role in combating disinformation, and their collective efforts can be a formidable force.
The Process
Twenty journalists will be chosen to participate in five webinars. These interactive workshops will take place on December 6, 7, 8, 11, and 12, 2023.
Participants will be encouraged to collaborate on cross-border projects, using their combined expertise to identify and counteract disinformation.
The winning team will have the chance to attend a DCN event in Europe in person in 2024.
