"We are thrilled to share our story of inspiration and collaboration, born out of our reunion at DCN's Web3 Fusion: Embracing AI and Beyond event in Bangkok, Thailand. As proud members of the Digital Communication Network (DCN), we've always believed that the true power of our community is its ability to spark meaningful connections and create opportunities for collaboration that lead to real change. Our journey with DCN has been full of such moments, but the most transformative came when we developed MIL and MISIN, an educational toolkit designed to combat misinformation by promoting media and information literacy (MIL) in underserved areas.It all started at the Web3 Fusion event. After unexpectedly meeting at the event, Khang Le and Trang Pham rekindled their shared passion for social impact. One of the standout moments of the gathering was the discovery of Dreams and Disruptions, a board game designed to teach foresight and critical thinking. The experience sparked an idea: Could a simple, engaging game be the solution to a much larger problem - misinformation, especially in communities with limited Internet access and digital tools?
From that moment of inspiration, MIL and MISIN were born. Together, we developed an open-source, game-based toolkit that empowers youth with the critical skills to evaluate information, think critically, and resist manipulation. Built with scalability, affordability, and accessibility in mind, MIL and MISIN offer a universal solution for educators worldwide, especially in underserved areas where digital access is scarce.
This project embodies the spirit of DCN - a space where creativity, collaboration, and social impact meet. We're excited to share our journey and work with the DCN community and beyond. We hope that through this platform, our story will reach more people, inspire further collaboration, and help MIL and MISIN make an even greater impact.
